I'm a writer, entrepreneur and marketer who lives in Denver, CO. My background probably reads like a Kerouac book, as I have held all sorts of jobs in all sorts of places. I've waited tables in Virginia, gone to graduate school in Maryland, worked in a factory in Ohio, and worked at an engineering firm in Colorado. I've edited scientific manuscripts; written all kinds of print, radio and TV ads; conducted market research; run branding firms; and even started a software company.
With all this life experience, I can say that I'm living proof that it helps to try lots of things to find out what you like doing (and what you don't). I can't say I've discovered what I want to be when I grow up (even though I now classify as middle aged), but I can say that I know with certainty the kinds of things I like doing and the kinds of people I like to be around.
I don't think very many people know from day one what they want to do with their life (and the people who know early on often discover that their dream profession isn't so dreamy once they have achieved their goals). I've found that all my travels and jobs, I have learned from all my co-workers, and that is what has given me quite a few skills and an abundance of knowledge that has enabled me to be where I'm at today.
In my free time, I like listing to my embarrassingly large music collection (rock, country, dance, electronic, jazz, ambient, folk, punk, avant garde ... I listen to it all), riding my road bike around the Rocky Mountains, reading esoteric texts on all types of topics, watching garbage TV, and spending time with my wife and dogs.
In my latest endeavor, I'm the founder and the marketing guru for a company that makes online software for professionals in the event industry; this includes event management software, wedding planner software, photo studio software, DJ management software and more.
